On behalf of Tripoli International School, welcome!

“When I talk to students, meet with the teachers, or receive comments from the parents, I feel enormous pride in the remarkable impact and reach of this School. It’s a hard-won reputation, built after many years of hard work and dedication”.

How it all started..

TIS is part of the mother company LINE, Libya for International and Nation Education.

LINE started in 1992 as a small private school called Donia El-Ibdaa teaching the Arabic Curriculum. The school started with only 10 employees, 50 students and classes going up to grade 6. With the help of our dedicated students and parents we expanded and in 2001 we had our first graduation. Today, Donia El-Ibdaa teaches 4 to 18 year olds and accommodates more than 400 students.

We sought to continue to cater for our students` needs even after they graduated. That is when we established IES - International Education Services. IES provides consultation about higher Education Institutions in Libya and abroad for our students and others. Today IES is the number one consultation office in Tripoli.

During the early years of the company's life, I saw the need for an independent, accessible private international school in Libya to cater for International and Libyan students. With a lot of hard work, months of research and bringing together a wide range of qualified, experienced staff, TIS (Tripoli International School) was established in 2004. TIS is registered with both Libyan and British education authorities. Teachers currently represent individuals from 12 different countries recruited locally and from overseas.
Students at TIS come from 19 different countries. The school has experienced unprecedented growth in the past four years, growing from 48 students when it first started, to 260 students in the beginning of the current school year. TIS uses the British Curriculum to deliver a comprehensive curriculum in English to 4 – 16 year old students. This year, our senior cohort entered year 10, as a result we will be offering the IGCSE program for the first time.

In 2008 LINE signed a joint venture project with a Maltese education provider LIT - Libya for International Training. LIT offers general and tailor made language coaching and training for individuals and corporations.

My vision for TIS is that we continue to work hard to create a learning environment that is safe, engaging and supportive. I want our school to deliver effective education for real outcomes for every student and most importantly for the students to enjoy this wonderful time of their lives and look back on their years at TIS with joy and pride in all that they have achieved.
